Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• account information (email address, optional name, and a securely hashed password);
• your dietary preferences (such as allergies and diets you tell us about);
• content you create in the Services (recipes, shopping lists, pantry items, and notes);
• photos you submit for recipe or pantry scanning; and
• voice dictation you record while using dictation features.

We also automatically collect a limited amount of technical information, described in the “Analytics” section below.

Analytics

To understand how our Services are used and to improve them, we log a small number of behavioral events tied to your Ingreedi account, such as when you sign in, create a recipe or shopping list, add items to a list, or start an Instacart® handoff. Each event records the type of action, the platform (web or iOS), a timestamp, and non-sensitive contextual details such as item counts. Events do not include your name, email address, recipe text, pantry contents, receipt text, or other free-form content.

Analytics events are processed by PostHog, a product analytics provider, on our behalf. PostHog is a data processor bound by its own privacy commitments and does not use your data for advertising. On the web, aggregate usage measurement is also collected via Google Analytics 4 for pageview and acquisition reporting.

We do not use advertising identifiers, do not fingerprint your device, and do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.

When you arrive at Ingreedi from a marketing link (for example a link with utm_source parameters) or from another website, we may record the acquisition source with your sign-up event so we can measure which channels bring people to Ingreedi.

To opt out of analytics on the web, visit any Ingreedi page with ?disable_analytics=1 appended to the URL. This browser will remember the setting and skip both Google Analytics and PostHog on future visits.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Services, to personalize your experience, to measure feature usage and customer acquisition, and to communicate with you about updates and support.

AI and Third-Party Processing

To power features such as recipe generation, shopping list categorization, voice dictation, and pantry or receipt scanning, Ingreedi sends the minimum necessary inputs (for example, the text you type or dictate, or a photo you submit) to third-party AI providers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Cloud Vision. These providers process the input to return a result and are bound by their own privacy commitments. We do not sell your data, and we do not authorize these providers to use your inputs to train their models.

Instacart® Handoff

When you send a shopping list or recipe to Instacart®, Ingreedi generates a link and hands you off to Instacart®'s own experience. What happens after you leave Ingreedi (including any purchase, order value, or payment) is governed by Instacart®'s privacy policy, not ours. Ingreedi only records that a handoff occurred; we do not see your Instacart® order details.

Your Choices

You can update your account information at any time and may delete your account from the Account screen in the Ingreedi app or by contacting us at support@ingreedi.ai. We will respond to all requests in accordance with applicable law.
